This course is divided into eight chapters, with two lessons per chapter (Video Lessons). Throughout the course, you will learn your personality type and how it relates to your career choices. You will learn how the skills you've acquired over the years can help you land your dream job. You will deeply reflect on your specific interests and personal mission statement, thus learning about the impact on your career choices. Lastly, you will be provided with the information, resources, and knowledge to help you move forward in your career journey.
Chapter 1: Taking the 16 Personality Type Assessment will help you better identify which career fields are aligned with. This assessment will not only help you dig deeper into a career that will make the most use of your natural gifts and talents, it will also help you learn more about yourself personally and professionally.
Chapter 2: In this chapter, you will learn about your skill set and how it can be used to drive your career trajectory. As with the previous chapter, you will complete a skills inventory so that you are aware of your skills learned from previous experiences and the skills that come naturally for you.
In this chapter, you are encouraged to use this opportunity to complete the interest inventory and document the assessment results in your course companion. Additionally, use this time to think about what your personal Mission Statement is that defines who you are and what you'd like to do, and document it in the course companion.
Learn how your work setting and environment significantly affect your productivity and motivation. In this chapter, you will learn the benefits of assessing a quality work environment and what it means for advancement in your career.
This chapter digs deeper as you evaluate and process your past, present, and future endeavors. This chapter will guide you into thinking about how your past and present work activities and experiences shape your future. You will evaluate what you've learned from your past experiences to reflect on your career path, like what has inspired you, the direction you'd like to take in the future, and the connections that you have garnered along the way.
Have you ever considered your working style? Do you prefer to work in a large community space? Are you a work-from-home person who accomplishes more in a secluded setting? Do you like working as part of a team, sharing ideas, and brainstorming projects? This chapter provides deeper insight into your specific working style and the attributes or traits that you provide to any organization or company.
In this chapter, you will learn about the five career configurations and how to implement them into your career planning. Strategic career planning and mapping require more than creating a resume, applying for jobs, landing an interview, and ultimately sustaining a job. The career configurations are about more than obtaining a "job". It's about finding your career niche and doing something that will ultimately bring you a job, satisfaction, and fulfillment.
Congratulations! You have reached the final chapter in this series. My hope is that you will use the information you learned along the way to put together an in-depth career plan that guides you to your career destination. In this chapter, you will learn how to put all the information you've learned about in a nice, organized plan and move forward in your career journey. Remember, your career guide is a "fluid" document, which means you can change, adjust, update, and refine along the way. Happy Journey!!!
